Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) is preparing in a new way for the Indian Premier League 2026. Changes are being made in the coaching staff of the team. Zaheer Khan, who was the mentor of the previous team, has separated from the team. A new name can be added to the LSG camp as a fielding coach for the upcoming season.

According to a report, former fielding coach of India Under-19 team Abhay Sharma can be appointed as the fielding coach of Lucknow Super Giants in IPL 2026. Abhay has previously been the head of the Ugandan national team. He has previously worked for the Indian women’s cricket team.

Abhay Sharma has long experience of coaching, which can prove to be very important for the team. He has previously worked with players like Shubhman Gill, Arshdeep Singh, Dhruv Jurel, Avesh Khan, Yashasvi Jaiswal.

LSG has recently announced Tom Moody as its Director of Cricket. Also, former New Zealand captain Kane Williamson has been appointed as its strategic director. Williamson is currently active in cricket, but after not finding a buyer in the auction last season, he has now decided to work behind the scenes in this most exciting and popular league of the world. Williamson has immense experience in international and league cricket, which will definitely be beneficial for the team.

LSG has had a very mediocre performance in the last two seasons. In IPL 2025, LSG had made a big investment on Rishabh Pant with the hope that he would change the fortunes of the team, but Pant disappointed. Pant is a part of the team, but in the hope of better performance, the team is making changes in the coaching staff as part of its strategy for the next season.
