Before the start of India vs South Africa Test series, Gautam Gambhir has come to visit Kalighat temple. The first test match is to be played at Eden Gardens, Kolkata from 14th November. Gautam Gambhir had also visited Kalighat temple twice in the year 2024. He went to visit Kalighat temple once as a mentor of Kolkata Knight Riders and second time after becoming the head coach of the Indian cricket team.
Gautam Gambhir had recently expressed condolences to the people and their families killed in the Delhi blasts. Last Monday evening, there was an explosion in a car near the Red Fort metro station in Delhi, in which many people are reported to have lost their lives.
Ever since Gautam Gambhir became the head coach, the performance of the Indian team in the Test format has not been very good. Team India has won Test series against Bangladesh and West Indies in the last one year. During this period, the Indian team had to lose the Border-Gavaskar Trophy 3-1 in Australia, after which the series in England was drawn 2-2. The Indian team had lost 0-3 to New Zealand in the home test series.
