Superstar Amitabh Bachchan shared his feelings after the demise of veteran actress Kamini Kaushal. Kamini Kaushal died in Mumbai at the age of 98. In his blog, Amitabh remembered his contribution to cinema and the special relationship that had existed between him and his family for years.

He wrote, “A dear family friend from the old times, when there was no partition in the country. Kamini Kaushal ji, a great artist and icon, who contributed a lot to our film industry and stayed with us till the end.” Amita said that Kamini’s death is “another big loss” for the film industry.
The actor further told that Kamini Kaushal’s elder sister was a very close friend of his mother, ‘Kamini ji’s elder sister was a very close friend. They were classmates. And she was a very happy like-minded friend. The elder sister had died in an accident and as per the tradition of that time, in such an unfortunate situation, she was married to her brother-in-law (elder sister’s husband).’
He wrote in his emotional blog post, “A very sweet, warm, affectionate and talented artist has left us at the age of 98. A memorable era is gone, not just for the film industry, but also for the group of friends. One by one everyone is leaving us. This is a very sad time, which is now filled with only prayers.”

Took his last breath at the age of 98
According to ANI report, Kamini Kaushal’s last rites were performed at Worli Crematorium on Saturday in the presence of her close family members. His elder son, the widower, performed the last rites as per tradition.
Kamini Kaushal was one of the most beloved actresses of the 1940s, 1950s and 1960s. He worked with stalwarts like Ashok Kumar, Raj Kapoor, Dev Anand, Dilip Kumar and Raj Kumar and Dharmendra. His first film was the famous ‘Neecha Nagar’ (1946), directed by Chetan Anand. The film won the Grand Prix at the first Cannes Film Festival and is the only Indian film to date to win the Palme d’Or. Kamini Kaushal worked in films for many years and remained active till her last days. His last film was Aamir Khan and Kareena Kapoor Khan’s ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’ released in 2022.
