OTT’s leading platform Netflix has announced that Neeraj Ghaywan’s film Homebound will stream on the platform from November 21. The streamer shared the update with the film’s poster on Instagram and wrote, “A long journey home, a friend who feels like home. Two childhood friends try to live a life of respect, but they have a long battle to win. India’s official selection for the Best International Feature Film at the 98th Oscars. The film, Homebound, is releasing on Netflix on November 21.
The film has been produced by veteran producers like Karan Johar, Adar Poonawala, Apoorva Mehta and Somen Mishra while Marijke D’Souza and Melita Toscan du Plantier are its co-producers.
A story based on friendship and hope
Directed by Neeraj Ghaywan, Homebound blends an authentic Indian story with a contemporary global cinematic vision. The story revolves around Shoaib (Ishaan Khattar) and Chandan (Vishal Jethwa), two childhood friends whose dream of joining the police force becomes the foundation of their lives. Jhanvi Kapoor plays an important role, which brings emotional feel to the story.
Homebound premiered in the Un Certain Regard section at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival and received rave reviews, later receiving a Second Runner-up International Audience Choice Award at the Toronto International Film Festival. It will start streaming on Netflix from November 21.
