Split in Siddaramaiah camp? ‘If DK Shivkumar accepts…’, a person close to the Chief Minister gave a big statement


Amidst the ongoing tussle within the Congress over the Chief Minister’s post in Karnataka, Home Minister G. God has made a big statement. He said that if the Congress high command decides to make DK Shivakumar the Chief Minister, he will completely accept it. This statement is being considered as one of the strongest signals coming from the Siddaramaiah camp.

What did God say?
While talking to a media channel, he said, ‘When I am asked about my desires for the post of Chief Minister, I answer that I am in this race. But if the party high command approves a transition and DK Shivakumar becomes the chief minister, we will accept it. He also said that if the transition was approved by the party, it would be smooth and peaceful.

He himself is interested in the post of CM.
Parameshwara reiterated that he also aspires to become the Chief Minister and the high command is fully aware of his contribution to the party. He made it clear that the final decision is in the hands of the party high command. He also described Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge as a ‘suitable candidate’, but said he had no knowledge of any agreement between Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar.

Struggle continues over leadership in Karnataka
At present there is speculation about the post of Chief Minister in Karnataka. The tussle revolves around the alleged power-sharing agreement between Siddaramaiah and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar. Everyone is waiting for the decision of the party high command, which will decide the direction of the state’s politics.

Earlier, amid the ongoing tussle over the post of Chief Minister in Karnataka, Congress State President and Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar had given a symbolic statement. He said that ‘the power of words is the power of the world and keeping a promise is the greatest power.’ His statement is being seen as an indication of the demand for change of power after Siddaramaiah and the political pressure associated with it.
