On the morning of Thursday (27 November 2025) suddenly a discussion spread on social media that the health of former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan has deteriorated. Some posts were claiming that he has been taken to the hospital, while some raised questions as to where he is. Hashtags like Imran Khan Health Update and Where is Imran Khan kept trending throughout the day, but as the day passed, official statements came out from both the government and PTI and the market of these rumors started cooling down.
Prime Minister’s Political Advisor Rana Sanaullah told in a conversation with a TV channel that the things being spread on social media regarding Imran Khan’s health have no connection with reality. He said that Imran is medically examined daily and all his needs are taken care of. Rana Sanaullah also made it clear that the talk of sending Imran Khan to some other jail is completely false and he is present in Adiala jail only.

Ali Zafar, a senior leader of Imran Khan’s party PTI, also said that the news spread on social media has no basis. However, he also admitted that doubts are being raised due to lack of meeting between family and lawyers. Ali Zafar requested the government that if the family is allowed to meet once, the whole matter will be clarified and misunderstandings will end. PTI has also lodged an objection in the Senate on this issue.
Concern and protest increased due to ban on meeting family
Sources associated with the party say that the family has not been allowed to meet Imran Khan for the last three weeks. The jail administration has also kept the lawyers away. Due to lack of any kind of meeting for such a long time, fear has set in among the workers and supporters and people have been seen protesting outside Adiala jail for many days.

Japan’s Nikkei, BBC and many other international institutions published reports on the current situation of Imran Khan. After these foreign coverage, the intensity of rumors increased further on social media. However, Pakistan’s Home Ministry has not yet issued any direct statement.
Imran Khan is serving a long sentence in Adiala jail.
Imran Khan has been in jail since August 2023 and has been sentenced to a total of 14 years in prison in cases related to money laundering and corruption. Former cricket star turned Prime Minister Imran Khan has been continuously saying that the action taken against him is motivated by political vendetta.
