TMC leader and Debra MLA Humayun Kabir, who is in discussion in West Bengal politics, is again in the headlines. Trinamool Congress suddenly suspended party MLA Humayun Kabir from Beldanga assembly constituency of Murshidabad. Kabir was recently in the news for his controversial statement in which he had talked about laying the foundation of a structure like Babri Masjid on 6th December. After this the political atmosphere became heated and the party did not delay in taking strict steps.
A new revelation has come to light regarding the financial condition of Humayun Kabir. According to MyNeta website, according to the affidavit filed before the 2021 assembly elections, he has total assets worth about ₹ 3.07 crore. His property includes both movable and immovable properties, detailed information of which is recorded in the document.
Kabir’s election affidavit
Kabir’s election affidavit states that the total value of his movable assets is approximately ₹97 lakh. This includes bank account balance, cash amount, insurance related schemes and many vehicles registered in the name of the family. He also has a fleet of big and expensive vehicles, which are said to include vehicles like Tata Safari, Scorpio, JCB machines and dumpers. The equipment used for business purposes is also part of their movable assets.
Value of immovable property is around Rs 2 crore
According to the affidavit, Kabir owns several lands and residential properties in Murshidabad and Kolkata, the total value of which is estimated to be around Rs 1.97 crore. Many agricultural lands are registered in his name in Murshidabad. Apart from this, he also has flats in New Town and Colin Street area of Kolkata. His house situated in Berhampur is also included in this category.
Debt burden also recorded in the affidavit
Kabir has also stated in his document that he has a debt of more than ₹29.46 lakh. This amount is mainly liabilities related to bank loans, which are yet to be repaid.
Wife’s property is also noteworthy
Details of his wife’s assets are also given in the affidavit. She has around 450 grams of gold jewellery, bank deposits and shares in properties shared with her husband. Overall, the wealth of his family is considered to be quite good.
