Rohit and Virat’s support
Speaking to Telecom Asia.net, Shahid Afridi said, “It is true that Virat and Rohit are the backbone of the Indian batting line-up. The way they played in the recent ODI series, it can be said with full confidence that both of them are capable of playing till the 2027 World Cup.”
He further said, “You have to preserve these two star players. When India is playing with a weak team, then Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma can be rested and new players can be given a chance.”
Rohit broke the record of sixes, Afridi happy
Till a few days ago, the record of hitting most sixes in ODI cricket was in the name of Shahid Afridi. He had hit 351 sixes in his career. Rohit Sharma has overtaken him in this list, who currently has 355 sixes in his name.
Shahid Afridi said on his record of sixes being broken, “Records are made only to be broken, now this one has also been broken. I am happy that the player I like has broken my record. The record of my fastest century remained in my name for about 18 years, eventually that too was broken. One player makes a record, another comes and breaks it. This is the name of cricket.”
