Rain Alert: In the New Year, there will be sky torture amid cold, celebrations will fade, rain is predicted in which 7 states including UP?

There is severe cold in most of the states of India right now. Amidst cold and fog, India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a rain alert in many states including Uttar Pradesh. A blanket of fog was also seen in the capital Delhi and surrounding areas on Monday (29 December).

Where is there possibility of rain?
The Meteorological Department said that there are chances of rain in Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan between December 31 and January 1. There is a possibility of rain in Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh on December 29 and rain or snowfall from December 30 to January 2. Meanwhile, there is a possibility of snowfall or rain in Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand also.

How will the temperature be?
According to IMD, the minimum temperature in North-West India may increase by 2 to 4 degrees Celsius in the next 24 hours and after this there is a possibility of a fall of 2 degrees Celsius in the next 3 days. There is no possibility of change in minimum temperature in the next 24 hours in Central and Eastern India. However, after this the temperature is likely to increase by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius in 2-3 days. Apart from these, no significant change is expected in the minimum temperature in other parts of the country.

In which states is there fog outbreak?
According to the Meteorological Department, there may be dense fog in the morning and night in Himachal Pradesh, Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh and Western Uttar Pradesh till December 31. Such weather may persist in eastern Uttar Pradesh till January 1. Dense fog is likely to prevail over East Madhya Pradesh, Arunachal Pradesh till December 30 and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Bihar, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura and Odisha till January 1.

There are chances of cold day in some parts of Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand today. There is a possibility of cold day in Himachal Pradesh from 31st December to 1st January. Cold wave may be seen in some parts of Punjab, Haryana and Madhya Pradesh on 30 December.
