Another shock has come for those traveling by Namo Bharat train. Car parking rates at stations have been changed, making parking a vehicle for a long time now more expensive than before. The new system is going to have a direct impact on the passengers traveling up and down daily.

Till now, only Rs 30 had to be paid for car parking at Namo Bharat stations for six hours to 16 hours. But in the new system, two additional slabs have been added, due to which the fee has been divided into three different categories. There is currently no change in the charges for other vehicles and general night parking.

Relief for 10 minutes, expenses increase after that

Under the new system, if a passenger stops the car for only 10 minutes, he will not have to pay any fee. However, if the vehicle is parked for more than 10 minutes and up to six hours, Rs 30 will have to be paid. After this, as time progresses, the fee will also increase rapidly.

New hourly rates

Now you will have to pay Rs 60 for parking your car for more than six hours and up to 12 hours. Whereas the parking fee for more than 12 hours and up to 16 hours has been increased to Rs 80. If the car remains parked for more than 16 hours and the vehicle is not removed till the train starts operating, then a fee of Rs 100 will have to be paid.

Parking is most expensive at night

Night parking has been kept the most expensive. Passengers will have to pay Rs 200 for parking their cars between 12 midnight and 5 am. This rate will affect those who travel late at night or early in the morning.

Meerut South station is most affected

In Meerut district, at present Namo Bharat train is operating only from Meerut South i.e. Bhoodbaral station. Here people come from different areas of the city with their cars and park them in the parking lot for the whole day and travel further by train. The parking spaces on both sides of the station complex are often completely full.

There is dissatisfaction among the passengers due to increase in parking fees. Passengers say that earlier it used to cost only Rs 30 for six to 16 hours, so it was convenient to come to the station by car. Now, with parking and train fare becoming expensive, the expenses have increased significantly. In such a situation, they will have to consider other options.
