The youth in Delhi have got a new and interesting opportunity. The office of Ashish Sood, Cabinet Minister of Delhi Government and MLA from Janakpuri Assembly Constituency, has launched ‘Youth for Governance (YFG) Fellowship 2026’. This fellowship is being organized for the first time, in which only 12 youth from across the country will be selected. The last date to apply for this 12-week program is January 8, 2026. Who is this fellowship for?
This fellowship is for those youth who want to understand governance and politics closely. Nowadays many youth want to take part in government work. They want to know how the government runs, how policies are made and how people’s problems are solved. Keeping this need in mind, this program has been started. Through this the youth will not only learn but will also be able to become good leaders and responsible citizens in the future.
Where will you get a chance to work?
The youth selected in the fellowship will get an opportunity to work in Janakpuri area of Delhi. There is a plan to make Janakpuri a model assembly constituency. Here the fellows will work closely with the office of Minister Ashish Sood. They will see how the government’s plans come to fruition. How people’s complaints are heard and how their solutions are found. This experience will be very valuable for the youth. They will go beyond bookish knowledge and understand governance in the real world.
How much stipend will I get?
The best thing about this program is that the selected youth will get a stipend of Rs 10,000 every month. This money will keep them away from financial worries. They will be able to concentrate completely on learning and work. Apart from this, they will get guidance from experienced people and policy experts, who will show them the right direction. Upon completion of the fellowship, a certificate will also be given by the Minister’s office.
Who can apply?
This fellowship is for youth between 18 to 24 years of age. They should be interested in social service, governance and works of public interest. Youth from any corner of the country can apply. In fact, the central and state governments are now emphasizing on involving the youth in policy making. Such programs are running in many places. YFG Fellowship is also a big step in this direction.
