A case of fraud has come to light with Bollywood actor, director and film producer Deepak Tijori. It is alleged that he was defrauded of Rs 2.5 lakh in the name of getting funding for his upcoming Hindi film ‘Tom Dick and Mary’. Based on the actor’s complaint, a case has been registered against three accused, including two women, at Bangur Nagar Police Station in Mumbai.
According to the police, complainant Deepak Tijori is a resident of Garden Estate located in Goregaon West and has been associated with the film industry since 1990. In December 2024, he completed the script of his film Tom Dick and Mary, the production of which required an investment of approximately Rs 25 crore.

It has been told in the complaint that in the first week of February 2025, a woman named Kavita Shibag Kapoor reached Tijori’s residence and claimed to be associated with T-Series. He also claimed to have strong contacts in Zee Network and media industry.
After this, Kavita made Tijori meet her colleague Fauzia RC and said that she can get a Letter of Interest (LOI) for the film from Zee Network, which will help in attracting investors.
It is alleged that both the women assured that the LOI would be provided within a week and in return, Rs 2.5 lakh was demanded as the first installment. Relying on his words, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed on 21 February 2025. After this, on 22 February 2025, Deepak Tijori transferred ₹ 2.5 lakh to the bank account of Fauzia RC.
However, despite a lot of time having passed, neither any letter of interest was received from Zee Network nor was the money returned. The complaint also states that Tijori was made to talk on the phone to a person named Joshi, who was said to be a representative of Zee Network. Later, upon verification from senior officials of Zee Network, it was revealed that no person with this name is working in the organization.
After realizing that he had been cheated, Deepak Tijori contacted the police. Bangur Nagar Police has registered a case against Kavita Shibagh Kapoor, Fauzia RC and an unknown person on January 13, 2026. At present, the search for the accused is going on and the police is investigating the matter further.
