‘Framework of deal on Greenland…’, Donald Trump’s U-turn, tariffs removed from European countries

Taking a U-turn on the tariff threat, US President Donald Trump has announced the withdrawal of proposed tariffs on eight European countries. These tariffs were to come into effect from February 1. Citing his conversation with NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte in Davos, Trump said that there were positive discussions regarding Greenland. A framework for future deals has been decided. Due to this, tariffs increasing from 10% to 25% will not be imposed on eight countries including France, Germany, Britain, Denmark, Sweden, Norway and Netherlands. The responsibility of these talks has been entrusted to Vice President JD Vance and Foreign Minister Marco Rubio.

Trump shared post on social media truth

In a post on Truth social media sites, Trump wrote that we have created a framework for a future deal regarding Greenland and the entire Arctic region. The proposed framework will be good for both America and its NATO allies. Therefore it has been decided to remove the tariff.

Talks will continue on the issue of Greenland

On the Greenland issue, he told that talks are going on on the Golden Dome related to Greenland. It will be led by Vice President JD Vance, Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Special Envoy Steve Witkoff. If needed, other officers will also be involved and will report directly to him.

‘All I’m asking for is a cold, nasty piece of ice’

Apart from this he said that what I am asking for is a cold and poorly placed piece of ice. It can play an important role in world peace and security. Our demand is very small. We have given them for many decades. We will get nothing. I do not decide to use too much power and force where we would be truly invincible. I won’t do that, okay? I don’t need to do this. I don’t want to use force.
