The case of suspicious death of Jodhpur’s famous storyteller Sadhvi Prem Baisa has created a sensation in the entire area. Considering the seriousness of this matter, Jodhpur Police Commissioner has formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) for investigation. This SIT will be of three members, which is headed by ACP Chhavi Sharma.

Bornada police station incharge Shakeel Ahmed has been included in the team along with ACP Chhavi Sharma. Apart from this, to strengthen the investigation on scientific and technical basis, a forensic expert has also been made a part of the SIT. Now this SIT will investigate every aspect related to the death of Sadhvi Prem Baisa. Police say that the matter will be investigated impartially and deeply and whatever facts will come to light. Further action will be taken on their basis.

Adopted spirituality at the age of just 12

Rajasthan’s famous storyteller Sadhvi Prem Baisa was cremated with full rituals yesterday (30 January 2026) in her native village Pareu (District Balotra). There is an atmosphere of mourning and reverence in the village due to the demise of Sadhvi. She was following the path of religion and spirituality since the age of just 12, but she died untimely at the age of 25. A large number of devotees, saints and villagers from far and wide came to have their last darshan.

According to media reports, Sadhvi Prem Baisa returned to Aarti Nagar Ashram in Jodhpur after completing the Katha from Ajmer on Tuesday (January 27). After returning, he started having trouble breathing. The compounder immediately injected him, but as his health deteriorated he was taken to a private hospital on Pal Road. Where he died.

With the permission of the family, the police conducted the post-mortem and sent the viscera samples for testing. After the completion of the process, the body was handed over to the relatives. On Wednesday (January 28), his mortal remains were brought to Pareu from Jodhpur and the samadhi rites were performed on Friday (January 30).

According to the local people, the life of Sadhvi Prem Baisa was full of devotion, spiritual practice and struggle. After the death of her mother at the age of five, she started living in the ashram of Jodhpur. Under the guidance of saints, he made a special mark in story telling and singing bhajans and after doing his first story at the age of 12, his fame kept increasing.
