Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) seems to be preparing to make big changes in the teams of its country. The board is considering making three teams. The matter is not limited to just three teams but the central contracts will also be divided into categories. So let us know what is the whole story of the 3 teams of Pakistan.
Actually, 3 teams of Pakistan will be formed for different formats. Senior selector and head of PCB High Performance, Aaqib Javed, told in an interview to Geo News how the formula of different teams will work.
He told that in modern cricket, players are required according to the format, especially T20 and Test cricket will be kept completely separate. There is no match between the two. Both formats are played completely differently.
There will also be a category for central contract
Aaqib Javed said, “The central contract on the basis of format will be the first step towards creating separate teams for each format. This is just the beginning. Going forward, each format can have its own team. We will have to do this and immediately separate the Test and T20 teams because both the formats cannot be played in the same way.”
However, Pakistan Board has not yet made any announcement regarding the new central contract. No information has been received about which players will get the new contract.
He further said, “If a player plays only Test cricket, he will be evaluated on the basis of other Test players and will get paid accordingly. The best performing players in the Test category will get up to 40 lakh PKR every month, while the less performing ones will get between 30 lakh to 35 lakh PKR. Similarly, depending on the performance, ODI and T20 players will also get the amount.”
