The opposition created a ruckus in the Lok Sabha on the 5th day of the budget session. In fact, Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi today again raised the issue of former Army Chief MM Naravane’s book and wanted to question the Doklam issue. But he was not allowed to speak. Opposition MPs created a ruckus on this. The proceedings of the Lok Sabha were adjourned till tomorrow. 8 MPs were also suspended in the House.
7 out of 8 MPs are Congress MPs
Eight MPs who threw papers towards the Chair during the uproar have been suspended for the entire session. These include 7 Congress MPs Amarinder Singh, Raja Wading, Prashant Parole, Hibi Eden, Gurjit Aujla, Dean Koriakos, Manickam Tagore, Kiran Kumar Reddy and a CPI(M) MP S Venkatesan. Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi are protesting outside the House on suspension of MPs.
Suspended Congress MP Raja told ABP News that as soon as the names of PM, China and Doklam came up, the BJP MPs started making noise. The Speaker switched off the mike and asked another MP to speak. We said this is wrong. Brar said, ‘By suspending us you want to suppress the voice of the opposition.’
Uproar started over Rahul Gandhi’s statement
On February 3, 2026, at 2 pm, Rahul presented the article from the unpublished book of the former Army Chief in the House and said, ‘Let me speak.’ As soon as he said this, NDA MPs started interrupting. Today he kept trying to speak for 14 minutes.
Rahul said, ‘I am not being given permission. I am not being allowed to speak. I am the leader of the opposition. I have raised the issue of national security. I am just telling what happened between China and India. Our soldiers were martyred in eastern Ladakh.
