National Testing Agency (NTA) has released the results of UGC NET December 2025. This examination is very important for those candidates who want to work on Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) or Assistant Professor posts or want to take PhD admission. Now candidates can check their results from the official website. UGC NET is a national level examination conducted for academicians and researchers in India.
The main objective of this examination is to ensure that eligible and competent candidates are selected as teachers or researchers in higher education. This examination was conducted in six days in computer-based mode in December 2025, which included 85 subjects. The examination was conducted from 31 December 2025 to 7 January 2026 and was conducted in 11 shifts at 663 examination centers located in 283 cities across the country.

Cut off for JRF and Assistant Professor
The highest cut-off marks for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) was 248 marks in the unreserved category. After this, there were 244 marks in Buddhist and Jain subjects and 240 marks in French subjects. Candidates qualified for JRF 5,141, candidates qualified for Assistant Professor 59,821, candidates qualified for PhD admission 117,058. NTA also ensured that the examination evaluation is transparent and fair for the candidates. Under this, the question papers, final answer keys and their answers of the candidates were made available on the NTA website from January 14 to January 17, 2026.
Further process for JRF and Assistant Professor
Candidates who have been found eligible for both JRF and Assistant Professor posts will be provided eligibility certificate and JRF award letter through NTA portal. This certificate will be very useful in the further academic or research activities of the candidates.
