Be alert: Four big tech companies are spending almost the country’s budget on AI, what next?

Artificial Intelligence: Artificial Intelligence is gradually spreading its wings. Companies are insisting on adopting it rapidly. In this sequence, four big tech companies like Amazon, Google, Meta and Microsoft are going to spend 650 billion dollars on developing AI and its related infrastructure in 2026. This has been revealed in a Bloomberg report.

This is surprising because recently the central government presented the general budget of the country, in which the total expenditure for the development of the entire country was fixed at about 670 billion dollars. This means that it is clear that the tech companies are spending almost the same amount on AI as the government is spending on the annual budget for the entire country.

Complete preparations are underway to adopt AI

Recently all these big companies reported their respective financial results, in which there was no mention of their upcoming expenses. A few days ago, Google had just said that its expenditure in 2026 will be around $185 billion. A few days later, Amazon told that its total expenditure this year will be 200 billion dollars. Meta estimated its expenditure to be around $135 billion. For Microsoft, this figure is expected to be around $120 billion.

A large part of this money will be spent directly on building AI infrastructure, which will include large data centers, high-end servers, networking equipment and specialized chips.

people being thrown out of work

News of layoffs in tech companies have been coming out for some time. Recently, Amazon showed the way out of the company to about 16,000 of its employees. Last year, Microsoft laid off 9000 employees. Meta has also cut the jobs of 10 percent workers in its reality lab. This clearly shows that to reduce their costs, companies are laying off workers in the name of restructuring so that they can spend more on AI infrastructure.
