He announced that those who steal, buy or sell manhole covers can be jailed for 1 to 10 years. Not only this, if someone dies due to this theft, then the culprits will have to pay a fine of up to 50 lakh Pakistani rupees along with 10 years of imprisonment.

Woman fell into gutter after lid was stolen

In fact, recently in Data Darbar area of Lahore, a mother and her innocent daughter fell into an open sewer, due to which both of them died. According to the police, development work was going on in the area at the end of January and during this time the manhole was open. A woman named Sadia and her newborn daughter Rida Fatima fell into this open pit, due to which both of them lost their lives.
