India vs Pakistan Match News: Pakistan has agreed to play with India in the T20 World Cup 2026. As per the fixed schedule, this match is to be played in Colombo on 15th February. Pakistan has taken this decision after the meeting held in Lahore. In this meeting, Pakistan and Bangladesh had placed many demands before the ICC, some of which have been accepted.
Bangladesh was excluded from T20 World Cup 2026. In the meeting held in Lahore, a demand was raised that compensation should be given to Bangladesh even after being out of the World Cup. The International Cricket Council has agreed to this. As compensation, Bangladesh can be given hosting of Under-19 World Cup and Women’s Cricket World Cup.
On the other hand, Pakistan had demanded to increase its share in ICC revenue. According to reports, currently the share in ICC revenue is 5.75 percent, which is said to be equivalent to approximately US$34-35 million. ICC has also said to consider this demand of Pakistan.
There will be no India-Pakistan series
No bilateral series has been played between India and Pakistan since 2012. Pakistan had demanded to restart the bilateral series, but ICC has rejected this demand. The International Cricket Council says that organizing a series between any two countries does not come under its jurisdiction.
In the T20 World Cup 2026, the match between India and Pakistan will be played under the hybrid model in a neutral venue i.e. Sri Lanka. A hybrid model was agreed upon between the boards of both the countries at the time of Champions Trophy 2025. After that India-Pak matches have been played at neutral venues.
