Why is the average height less in these areas?

Experts say that there are many interrelated reasons for the low average height in these countries. One of the main reasons for this is malnutrition in childhood. Lack of adequate protein, vitamins and essential micronutrients can significantly reduce physical development. Due to this the height may remain short. Along with this, genetics also play a big role. In some populations, short stature may be due to hereditary factors passed down through generations. Average height is not just a physical statistic. It often reflects major indicators of health and development. Improvements in nutrition, public health systems and living standards have led to an increase in average height in many parts of the world.
