The doors of Kedarnath temple, the famous pilgrimage site of Uttarakhand, will be opened on 22nd April in Taurus ascendant. Its official announcement was made with ceremony at the winter seat Omkareshwar Temple. Since the announcement, huge enthusiasm is being seen among the devotees.
According to the temple committee, the doors will open on the auspicious Taurus ascendant on Wednesday (April 22) at 8 am. With this, the six-month long Kedarnath Yatra will begin.

This year T Gangadhar Linga has been given the responsibility of chief priest at Baba Kedarnath Dham. According to tradition, the puja is performed only by the Rawal priests of South India. Devotees are now registering in large numbers for Baba’s darshan.
Date of Badrinath Dham also decided
A day after the opening of the doors of Kedarnath Dham, the doors of Badrinath temple will be opened for the devotees on April 23 at Brahmamuhurta at 6.15 am. This auspicious date was already announced on the occasion of Vasant Panchami.
Whereas the doors of Gangotri and Yamunotri Dham will be opened with rituals on Akshaya Tritiya, 19th April. However, the information about the exact auspicious time of these two Dhams will be made public separately by the temple committee in the coming days, for which the devotees are eagerly waiting.
Preparations for Chardham Yatra intensified
The government and local administration have also intensified preparations for the Chardham Yatra. Road repair, security arrangements and registration system are being improved. Advance booking has also started in hotels and dharamshalas.
Every year lakhs of devotees come on Chardham Yatra. This time also a good number of passengers are expected to arrive. Devotees are eagerly waiting for the darshan of Baba Kedarnath with prayers for less snowfall in the mountains and clear weather.
