Information is coming to light about the raid by the Income Tax Department team at the residence of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) supremo Mayawati’s only MLA Uma Shankar Singh. It is being told that more than three dozen officers along with heavy police force have reached the spot and are engaged in action. During the raid that has been going on since morning, there is an atmosphere of commotion and chaos outside the residence. In view of security, police force has been deployed in the area and people coming and going are being monitored. At present, the official statement from the Income Tax Department is awaited.
According to the information, the Income Tax Department team reached the BSP MLA’s residence at around seven in the morning and surrounded the premises and limited the movement inside and outside. According to sources, the Income Tax Department is investigating some financial transactions and property related documents. Along with this, during the raid, the officials started searching the files, electronic devices and other records present inside the house. It is believed that this action is likely to last for several hours. However, no official statement has been issued by the department.
