Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed the Israeli Parliament. Referring to the deep relations between the two countries, PM Modi said that India stands firmly with Israel. He expressed condolences to the Israeli citizens killed in the terrorist attack by Hamas in Israel. PM Modi also supported Gaza Peace Initiative. PM Modi was awarded the Israeli Parliament’s highest honor (Speaker of Knesset Medal).

Addressing the Israeli Parliament, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said, ‘It is a privilege and honor for me to stand in front of this prestigious House. I am doing this as the Prime Minister of India and as a representative of an old civilization while addressing another civilization. I bring with me the greetings of 140 crore Indians and a message of friendship, respect and partnership.
India stands firmly with Israel – PM Modi
PM Modi further said, ‘India stands with Israel with full determination and confidence at this time and in future also.’ The Prime Minister further said, ‘I express my condolences to the Israeli citizens killed in the terrorist attack by Hamas in Israel. Common citizens cannot be justified in any way. PM Modi said, ‘Common people were killed in the 9/11 attacks in Mumbai, including Israeli citizens.’
‘We understand your pain’
Narendra Modi said, ‘I was born on the same day India gave official recognition to Israel, September 17, 1950. On behalf of the people of India, I extend my deepest condolences to every life and every family whose world was destroyed in the merciless terrorist attack by Hamas on October 7. We understand your pain, we share in your sorrow. India stands firmly with Israel at this time and with full confidence in the future.”
‘India’s support to Gaza Peace’
The Prime Minister said, “…the Gaza Peace Initiative, which was approved by the UN Security Council, shows a way forward. India has expressed its firm support for this initiative. We believe that it holds the promise of a just and lasting peace for all the people of the region, including resolving the Palestinian issue. All our efforts must be guided by wisdom, courage and humanity. ‘India suffered the pain of terrorism for a long time’
He said, no reason can justify the killing of common people. Nothing can justify terrorism. India has also suffered the pain of terrorism for a long time. We remember the loss of innocent lives, including Israeli citizens, in the 26/11 Mumbai attacks.
