If traffic rules are broken again and again, driving license will be cancelled, government is going to bring new rules.

New Traffic Rules: Crores of vehicles run on the roads in the country every day. In this era of fast paced life, people often forget the traffic rules in the race to reach there quickly. But these small carelessness become the cause of big accidents. Every year thousands of families lose their loved ones in road accidents. Driving at high speed, jumping red light, driving while talking on mobile or driving under the influence of alcohol.

All these have now become not just mistakes but alarm bells. Keeping this in view, the government is preparing to make road safety rules more stringent. In the coming time, a new system regarding driving license can be implemented. Due to which, strict action will be taken against those who repeatedly break the rules and their license can even be cancelled.

What is graded marking system?

The new system the government is working on. It is being called graded marking system. In this system, fixed points will be given on the license of every driver. Whenever a driver breaks traffic rules, his points will be reduced. If a person drives at high speed, breaks signal, drives in the wrong direction or drunken driving. So his marks can be deducted faster.

The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways believes that this system will motivate people to drive responsibly. If a driver loses all his points. So his license can be suspended for up to six months. If rules are repeatedly broken, there may be a provision for complete cancellation of the license. This system is being considered a big step to increase discipline in driving.

Why is this change in rules necessary?

Road safety remains a big challenge in India. Lakhs of road accidents are recorded every year. In which thousands of people lose their lives. The main reasons for accidents are overspeeding, not using helmet and seat belt and using mobile while driving. Experts believe that just increasing the fine cannot completely eliminate the problem.

For this reason, the government is now laying more emphasis on changing people’s thinking and driving habits. The new points-based system will seek to influence driver behavior beyond direct fines. When rules are broken, license points will be reduced. So the drivers themselves will start being alert.
