Assembly elections are to be held in Uttar Pradesh next year, Congress has intensified preparations for this. Former Congress President Rahul Gandhi held an important strategic meeting today, in which the organizational strength and social equations of the state were discussed in detail.
Uttar Pradesh in-charge General Secretary Avinash Pandey, Congress Organization General Secretary KC Venugopal, State President Ajay Rai, Minority Congress National Chairman Imran Pratapgarhi, OBC Department National Chairperson Anil Jaihind and Scheduled Congress President Rajendra Pal Gautam were present in the meeting.
6 month roadmap ready
Sources reveal that Congress is preparing a detailed six-month roadmap for Uttar Pradesh. The main basis of this strategy will be to start ‘Social Justice Programme’ across the state. Under this initiative, the party will start social contact and mass communication programs at the block level, so that direct communication can be established with the communities at the grassroots level. During the campaign, issues related to land will be raised prominently, which will include questions of land rights and social equality.

According to sources, during the meeting, Rahul Gandhi emphasized that social justice should not be limited to public campaigns only, but should also be visible in the structure of the party organization. He said that it is necessary to ensure participation and representation of deprived and marginalized communities in the organization.
Focus on OBC, Dalit, Muslim and poor general class
According to sources, the social equations of Uttar Pradesh were discussed in detail in the meeting. Especially the strategy to strengthen the hold among OBC, Dalit and Muslim voters was considered. Besides, a plan is also being made to reach out to the economically weaker general category. Congress is now preparing to start an active campaign at the grassroots level by making social justice the main agenda in Uttar Pradesh. Plans are being made to run targeted programs in the coming months to directly reach out to these sections.
This meeting was for initial and organized preparation of Congress’s electoral activism in Uttar Pradesh, in which social justice has been made the central issue of the upcoming strategy.
