Delhi government has started Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana to strengthen the education and economic security of daughters. The objective of this scheme is that no girl’s education should be interrupted due to financial reasons and she can complete her education till graduate or diploma course. According to the government, this scheme is a new and expanded form of the old Laadli scheme. In which now daughters will get more amount and help till higher education. In such a situation, let us tell you today who can avail the benefits of Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana and what documents are necessary for this.
Who can avail the benefits of Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana?
The benefit of Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana will be available only to those families whose annual income does not exceed Rs 1.20 lakh. Where the family has been living in Delhi for the last three years, apart from this the daughter should have been born in Delhi, whereas only a maximum of two daughters of a family will be eligible for this scheme. Apart from this, registration of the daughter for this scheme can be done within one year of birth or application for the scheme can be made even during studies. The scope of this scheme has now been extended to those daughters who are pursuing graduation or diploma in any government or UGC recognized institute of the country. Under this scheme, the maturity amount will be available only after the age of 21 years and after fulfilling the conditions related to education.
How much amount will be given under Lakhpati Bitiya Yojana?
Under this scheme, the government will deposit a total of Rs 56,000 in different phases in the name of daughters. In this, amount will be sent during the birth of the daughter and during her studies in different classes in school. After adding interest, this amount can exceed Rs 1 lakh by the age of 21 years. Whereas the amount included in the earlier Laadli scheme could be withdrawn at the age of 18 years. But now it has been linked to higher education, so that girls can complete graduation or diploma courses.
Which documents are required for Laadli Bitiya Yojana?
The application process for Ladli Bitiya Yojana will be digital. But some important documents will be required to prove eligibility. These documents will include income certificate, certificate of 3 years residence in Delhi, birth certificate of daughter, Aadhaar card, details of bank account linked to Aadhaar and documents related to admission in school or college. Registration for the scheme can be done at the time of birth or during studies. Apart from this, on maturity of the scheme, the entire amount will be transferred directly to the Aadhaar linked bank account.
