The Uttarakhand government has become completely alert regarding the ongoing tension and war-like situation between Iran and Israel. Chief Minister Pushkar Singh Dhami has clearly said that all the concerned agencies of the state have been put on alert mode and the situation is being constantly monitored. He said that the state government is in constant touch with the Delhi-based Home Ministry, External Affairs Ministry and senior officials of the Central Government, so that immediate action can be taken in case of any emergency.
Chief Minister Dhami said that as soon as any guidelines are received from the Central Government or the Prime Minister’s Office, the State Government will take immediate steps accordingly. He assured that every possible effort will be made to bring back the people of Uttarakhand stranded in Iran or Israel to India in a safe and orderly manner. The state government is continuously contacting the people present there and their families and information about their condition is being obtained.
‘Our effort is to evacuate the people of Uttarakhand safely’
The Chief Minister said, “We are in constant touch with the Prime Minister’s Office and the Foreign Minister’s Office. Our effort is to ensure that all the people living in Uttarakhand can be evacuated safely as soon as possible. In this difficult time, we stand with every citizen of ours. We will not let even a single citizen of Uttarakhand be harmed.” He also said that if needed, a special coordination mechanism will be prepared at the state level, so that there is no hindrance in the relief and return process.
Many people of Uttarakhand stranded in Iran
It is being told that at present many people of Uttarakhand are stranded in Iran, which includes students, working people and some families. Due to impact on international flights and air services, there are problems in their return. In such a situation, the state government is making coordinated efforts with the Center to ensure safe evacuation.
‘Appeal to the people of Uttarakhand not to pay attention to rumours’
The Chief Minister has appealed to the people of the state not to pay attention to rumors and rely only on official information. He said that the government is constantly monitoring the situation and as soon as any concrete decision or plan comes forward, its information will be shared publicly.
This stand of the Uttarakhand government amid Iran-Israel tension clearly indicates that the state is giving top priority to the safety of its citizens. Now everyone’s eyes are on the next step of the central government and the possible evacuation plan.
