In a video posted on social media, researchers saw orange Maori octopus sticking on the back of a large shortfin Maco Shark (Isuras Oxyrinchus), which is considered one of the fastest sharks in the world. The video was captured in December 2023 but has been shared on social media this week. The video shared shows “Sharktopus” walking away from the northern coast of New Zealand in Hauraki Bay.
