The situation is such that hot winds have been blowing since morning. The conditions become very bad during the day, the scorching heat is difficult to bear, while the nights are also getting hotter. According to the Meteorological Department, heat and heat waves will continue in the coming days. At present there is no sign of relief.
The Meteorological Department has given an alert of dry weather in the western division today, Friday, May 22. Orange alert of heat wave has been issued at some places in these districts. At some places, there will be strong dust storm in the division. There is a possibility of strong winds blowing at a speed of 25-30 km. A red alert has been issued for severe heat and heat wave in most of the districts of Purvanchal. There will be a dust storm here at a speed of 30 km per hour.
Red alert of extreme heat and heat wave
At present, there is no hope for the people of UP to get respite from the heat. Dust storm and extreme heat will continue on Saturday also. There is red alert in Purvanchal for tomorrow also. Similar weather will prevail in the state till May 27, due to which the temperature will increase further. There is a possibility of a gradual increase of 2-3 degrees in the maximum temperature in the next 24 hours. In such a situation, the temperature in many cities can exceed 45 degrees.
The capital Lucknow is also being hit by the scorching heat; due to the heat, people are forced to hide in their homes. There is silence on the streets during the day. The maximum temperature in Lucknow today can be between 41-42 degrees, while in Noida, Ghaziabad and Meerut the condition is also worse due to heat. It is very difficult to bear the scorching heat during the day, orange alert of heat wave has been given in these districts today.
Temperature crossed 45 degrees in many cities
For the past several days, Banda has remained the hottest district of the state, the maximum temperature here has reached 48 degrees, while in Prayagraj, Hamirpur, Jhansi and Agra the temperature has also remained up to 45-46 degrees. The Meteorological Department has issued a red alert of extreme heat and heat wave in Banda, Chitrakoot, Fatehpur, Kaushambi, Pratapgarh, Prayagraj, Mirzapur, Jaunpur, Sant Kabir Nagar and Varanasi today.
There has also been a warning of dust storm along with strong sunshine in these districts. The nights will also be hot. There is an orange alert of severe heat wave in Noida, Ghaziabad, Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Mathura, Aligarh, Agra, Hathras, Etah, Firozabad, Mainpuri, Kannauj, Kanpur, Jhansi, Mahoba, Hamirpur, Rae Bareli, Amethi, Sultanpur, Azamgarh, Mau, Ballia, Ghazipur and Chandauli and the nights will also be very hot.
