Before their most important match in IPL 2026, Kolkata Knight Riders have received a shock of 440 volts. Wicketkeeper batsman Angkrish Raghuvanshi is out of the tournament due to injury. He suffered a concussion in the match against Mumbai Indians and also suffered a fracture in his finger. This injury of Raghuvanshi is a big blow for the Kolkata team, because it is very important for KKR to defeat Delhi Capitals to keep the playoff hopes alive.
Kolkata Knight Riders issued an official statement saying, “Angkrish Raghuvanshi has been ruled out of the IPL 2026 tournament. He suffered a concussion and fractured the finger of his left hand while taking a catch in the match against Mumbai Indians on Wednesday.”
Raghuvanshi is the highest run-scorer for KKR so far in IPL 2026. He scored 422 runs in 13 matches, this season he has scored five half-century innings with his bat. Now the question is who will replace Raghuvanshi as wicketkeeper in the Kolkata team.
Tejashwi Singh Dahiya replaced him in the match against Mumbai Indians. But he does not have much experience in pressure filled matches. On the other hand, KKR has also used Finn Allen mostly as an impact player.
Shock to Kolkata
Kolkata Knight Riders are currently at sixth position in the points table with 13 points. Kolkata’s last match is to be with Delhi Capitals, by winning which it can reach 15 points. If KKR does not win that match then it will be out of IPL 2026. Let us tell you that Kolkata has come very close to the playoffs by winning 6 out of the last 7 matches.
