Today is a very special day for the youth preparing for government jobs in Bihar and wearing khaki uniform. Mains exam is being conducted today (May 27) for thousands of youth who are dreaming of becoming Sub-Inspector (Inspector) in Bihar Police. This important examination is being conducted by Bihar Police Sub-Service Commission (BPSSC) to fill a total of 1799 vacant posts of Police Sub-Inspector under the Home Department. The administration and police are on full alert mode regarding this examination to be held today, so that the entire examination can be conducted without any disturbance and in a completely peaceful environment.
Exam Shifts & Timings
This important examination is being conducted in two different shifts on the same day. The exam time has been fixed as follows.
- First Shift: Will start from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon.
- Second Shift: Will start from 2:00 pm and will continue till 4:30 pm.
When to reach the centre? (Reporting Time)
The Commission has clearly given strict instructions that under any circumstances, all the candidates have to reach their respective examination centers exactly one and a half hour before the commencement of the examination. Any carelessness regarding timing can throw you out of the exam. Those coming late will not be allowed to enter the main gate at all.
- For first shift candidates: Reporting time is 8:30 am.
- For second shift candidates: It will be mandatory to reach the center by 1:00 pm.
Examination Center and Number of Candidates
For this examination, 69 examination centers have been set up in five major districts of the state including the capital Patna. Altogether around 36000 candidates are going to appear in this main examination.
What to take with you?
- E-Admit Card: This is the most important document. Keep its printout with you.
- Valid Photo ID Proof: To prove your identity, you will have to carry the original identity card. In this you can take any one of Aadhar Card, Voter ID Card, PAN Card or Driving License.
- Passport size photo: Keep two recently taken passport size photographs with you, so that matching can be done if needed.
What not to take?

- Bluetooth device or earphones
- Calculator or Smartwatch
- Digital Diary, Palmtop or PDA
- slide rule or clipboard
If any candidate is caught with any of these things in the examination hall, his/her examination will be immediately canceled and strict action will be taken against him/her.
