Along with this, Chief Minister Vijay also raised the issue of singing of Tamil Nadu’s state song ‘Tamil Thai Vazhathu’ at the beginning of all government programs with PM Modi. He sought clarification from the Union Home Ministry on whether Tamil Thai Vazhathu should be allowed to continue to be sung at the beginning of all government programs in the state.
He said that traditionally the state song has been sung at the beginning of all government programs in Tamil Nadu, but in the month of January this year, a notification has been issued by the Union Home Ministry, in which it was said that from now on, at the beginning of all government programs, the national song Vande Mataram and then the national anthem Jana Gun Mana will be sung.
