List of names submitted to the high command
According to sources, Siddaramaiah submitted the list of preferred leaders for Rajya Sabha and Legislative Council (MLC) appointments to the Congress leadership. Along with this, he also expressed his opinion regarding the distribution of ministries in the new cabinet. It is being told that Siddaramaiah has demanded to give important responsibilities to his close leaders and supporters in the new government.
Demand for important ministry for son Yatindra
According to sources, Siddaramaiah has demanded bigger ministries for his son Yatindra Siddaramaiah in the new DK Shivakumar led cabinet. These are said to include important departments like medical education, backward class welfare, industry and water resources. It is being said that Siddaramaiah wants his son to get a strong role in the government.
New government can be formed under the leadership of DK Shivkumar
After the change of leadership in Karnataka, DK Shivakumar is now considered most likely to become the next Chief Minister. However, no official announcement has been made by Congress yet. Meanwhile, Siddaramaiah’s visit to Delhi and meeting with the high command is being considered very important for the formation of the new government of Karnataka and the balance of power.
Politics of balance of power continues in Congress
Political experts believe that both Siddaramaiah and DK Shivakumar are big faces of Karnataka Congress. In such a situation, creating a balance between the two groups regarding ministries and posts in the new government will be a big challenge for the Congress leadership. At present, continuous meetings are going on in Delhi and it is believed that soon the official picture regarding the new Chief Minister and Cabinet of Karnataka may become clear.
