Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) won the IPL 2026 title by defeating Gujarat Titans by 5 wickets last Sunday (31 May). This was the second consecutive title for RCB. After winning the first trophy in the last season i.e. 2025, the team’s victory parade was held in Bengaluru, in which 11 people lost their lives and many were injured due to a stampede. Now after the victory of Bengaluru in the current season, a big update came out on the victory parade.

According to news agency PTI, this time there will be no victory parade for the victory of RCB i.e. victory procession will not be taken out. This time, fans have been instructed to celebrate the team’s victory indoors.

The swearing in ceremony of Chief Minister DK Shivkumar also became the reason.

Apart from some kind of stampede being the reason for not holding the victory parade, the swearing-in ceremony of the newly appointed Chief Minister of Karnataka DK Shivakumar has also been kept in mind. This function will be organized at Lok Bhawan. The Governor’s residence is very close to Chinnaswamy Stadium. A huge crowd is expected to gather in this political program from across the state.

Many high-ranking people are expected to attend the function, for which a lot of police force will be required. In such a situation, it will be difficult for the state police department to send its personnel for any other high-voltage function.

Very little chance of celebration in Bengaluru

An RCB source told the news agency, “There is very little possibility of any kind of celebration in Bengaluru. There are some guidelines set and we have to follow them.”

Bengaluru City Police Commissioner Seemanth Kumar Singh said, “We will not allow any kind of public function. If anyone wants to celebrate, they can celebrate indoors.”
