An important update has come out for the candidates appearing in NEET UG 2026 re-exam. National Testing Agency (NTA) may soon issue city intimation slip and admit card giving information about the exam city. Candidates will be able to download the necessary documents with the help of their application number and password by visiting the official website.
The re-exam of NEET UG 2026 will be conducted on June 21. The examination will be held across the country in a single shift from 2 pm to 5:15 pm. Lakhs of medical candidates are likely to appear in this examination. All preparations for the examination have reached the final stage.
Information about exam city can be available soon
Before the examination, city intimation slip will be issued to the candidates to inform them about the city of their examination centre. Admit cards will also be made available after some time. Candidates have been advised to keep an eye on the official website from time to time so that they do not miss any important information.
Decision of re-exam taken after paper leak controversy
This year NEET UG exam was in the news due to allegations of paper leak. After the allegations and investigation that came to light from various states, questions were raised regarding the fairness of the examination. In this background, it was decided to conduct the examination again, so that all the candidates can get equal opportunity.

The matter also reached the Supreme Court
The matter had reached the Supreme Court demanding to conduct the examination in Computer Based Test (CBT) mode. However, the court did not immediately accept this demand. During the hearing, it was also acknowledged that re-conducting such a large-scale examination is a big challenge from the administrative point of view.
The format of the exam may change in future
Indications have been given by the Central Government and the Ministry of Education that steps can be taken towards conducting the NEET UG examination in computer-based mode in the coming academic sessions. This is expected to help in making the examination process more secure and transparent.
Deadline for submitting bank details extended
Keeping in mind the convenience of the candidates, NTA has also extended the last date for submitting bank account information. This will provide relief to those candidates who were not able to submit the required information till now. Candidates can update their information within the prescribed time limit.
