After the controversy over CBSE’s On-Screen Marking (OSM) system increased, the Central Government has started investigating the matter. For this, a one-member committee has been formed, the responsibility of which has been given to former IAS officer S Radha Chauhan. The government has expressed confidence in him due to his long experience in the field of education and administration.
Who is S Radha Chauhan?
S Radha Chauhan is a 1988 batch IAS officer of Uttar Pradesh cadre. He studied law from Delhi University. While working in administrative services for about 36 years, she handled the responsibilities of many big departments. Currently she is the chairperson of the Capacity Building Commission.
Have worked in many important departments
In her long career, S Radha Chauhan has worked in areas like education, health, rural development, women and child development, urban development and skill development. She is considered to have good experience in better implementation of government schemes and administrative reforms.
What is the whole matter?
Recently, many questions were raised by students and parents regarding the on-screen marking system of CBSE. Some people said that due to irregularities in the evaluation process, the marks of many students have been affected. After this, this matter became much discussed and the demand for investigation intensified.

Senior CBSE officials transferred
After the controversy escalated, the then CBSE Chairman Rahul Singh and Secretary Himanshu Gupta were transferred. After this, the government decided to form a committee under the chairmanship of S. Radha Chauhan to conduct an impartial investigation into the entire matter.
What will the committee investigate?
This committee will look into the entire process of the on-screen marking system. In the investigation, an attempt will be made to find out how much truth is there in the complaints of the students and whether there are any shortcomings in the evaluation process. Besides, suggestions will also be given to ensure that such situation does not arise again in future.
