The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has appointed Sairaj Bahutule as the new spin coach of the Indian cricket team. Sairaj Bahutule has got this responsibility before the only test against Afghanistan. Former Indian international player and domestic cricket legend Sairaj Bahutule is an experienced coach. Over the years, he has worked to hone spin bowling talents in domestic and franchise cricket.
Sairaj Bahutule has played two Tests and eight ODI matches for India. He played domestic cricket for India for almost two decades, and performed brilliantly. Apart from being a great spinner, he has also been a brilliant batsman in domestic cricket. He scored 6176 runs and took 630 wickets in first-class cricket. He was considered a legend of domestic cricket.

After being a powerful player, Sairaj Bahutule has made his mark as one of the most respected coaches in Indian cricket. His experience in the field of coaching spans domestic, east-level and international cricket, including stints as head coach of Vidarbha, Kerala, Gujarat and Bengal. He has also worked as a spin bowling coach with IPL franchises Rajasthan Royals and Punjab Kings.
After becoming the spin coach of the Indian cricket team, Sairaj Bahutule said, “It is a huge honor for me to be appointed as the spin bowling coach of the Indian men’s cricket team. It was a matter of great pride for me to represent India as a player, and to have the opportunity to once again contribute to Indian cricket through coaching is extremely special for me. I look forward to working with the players and helping the team achieve excellence in all formats.”
