Now challans for breaking traffic rules will be sent to drivers in the state directly through SMS, email and WhatsApp. This means that any vehicle owner will now get the challan information immediately on his mobile or email.
Under this new system, the e-challan issued by the traffic police will be considered officially valid. If a person has received a message, it will be considered as a legal notice, whether it is SMS, WhatsApp or email. The government says that many times people claim that they did not receive the challan information, which leads to delay in payment. Now, to eliminate this problem, digital notification is being made legally strong.
What will vehicle owners have to do?
The most important thing in this system is that the vehicle owners will have to keep their mobile number and email ID correct and updated. This information is linked to the Vehicle Registration System (VAHAN). If someone has not updated his number then he cannot get the challan information on time. Therefore, the government has advised vehicle owners to update their details immediately so that any kind of problem can be avoided.
Another major objective of this decision is to strengthen the enforcement of traffic rules. Many times people delay in paying the fine due to not getting the challan information on time, due to which the fine may increase further or even legal action may be taken. With the advent of the digital system, the challan information will be available immediately and people will be able to make the payment on time.

Cyber criminals try to steal money and bank details from people by sending fake links. Therefore, the police has made it clear that before clicking on any link, check it and use only the official government portal or app.
This step of the government is being considered as a big change in the direction of modernizing the traffic system and providing better facilities to the people. Digital notification will not only speed up the process but will also increase transparency and people will continue to get information about their challan on time.
