US President Donald Trump has admitted that he called Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu ‘mad’ in a conversation. He admitted that after the Israeli attacks in Lebanon, he had spoken to Netanyahu on the phone and he was asking him to stop the attacks, then there was a heated argument between the two.
Trump admitted this in a podcast with the New York Post on Wednesday (June 3, 2026). He said, ‘Yes… I said so.’ He also said, ‘I wouldn’t say I was angry, but I was fed up with the ongoing war with Lebanon. At one time I said – Bibi, we have to stop all this. We have to stop this. He told that during this time he had told Netanyahu that you have gone mad.

Trump also immediately mentioned his deep relationship with Netanyahu. He said that he has a very good and deep relationship with Netanyahu. He said, ‘We worked well together… I like Bibi very much.’

According to Axios report, Trump was very angry about the continuous bombing of Lebanon. During this time, when he talked to Netanyahu, he said, ‘You have gone completely mad. If it wasn’t for me, you would have been in jail today. I am saving your life. Everyone hates you right now. Because of these actions of yours, everyone is hating Israel today.
Lebanon and Israel agree to ceasefire
Despite Trump’s displeasure, Netanyahu had reiterated in a post on social media platform X that he would continue his tough stance against Lebanon. However, now he has agreed to stop attacks on Lebanon. Lebanon and Israel have agreed to a ceasefire in US-led talks in Washington. Both have confirmed this in a joint statement. Both countries have made it clear that this ceasefire will be effective only when the Iran-backed organization Hezbollah completely stops attacks and firing.
