India’s neighboring country China has achieved a major achievement in the field of space technology on Friday (July 10, 2026). For the first time, China has successfully tested an experimental rocket recovery system to land it safely in the sea.
China launched the Long March-10B rocket on Friday (July 10) afternoon and within a few minutes, the first stage or booster of the rocket returned safely and landed in a safety net made in the middle of the sea. This is the first time that China has succeeded in landing the booster of a carrier rocket in a controlled manner.

Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson Mao Ning called it a historic day for the country. He has shared this information by sharing a video post on social media platform X. In the video post, the rocket system is seen landing in a safe net made in the middle of the sea.

Meanwhile, in the caption of the post, Mao Ning said, ‘Today is a historic day for China’s space program. China’s Long March-10B rocket has successfully completed its first maiden flight. Also, its first stage or booster has also been successfully recovered with the help of a special net made in the sea (sea-based net). This is the first controlled recovery of a rocket in the history of China. He further said that this achievement is being considered as a big leap for China towards reusable launch capability.
Booster returned safely 6 minutes after rocket launch
This rocket was launched from the Commercial Space Launch Site in Hainan, Southern China at 12:15 pm local time. According to a report by state broadcaster CCTV, the booster returned vertically about 6 minutes after the separation of the booster and upper stage and was successfully recovered with the help of a net-capture system on a platform built in the sea.
