Former Bangladesh cricketer Tamim Iqbal has been elected the new president of Bangladesh Cricket Board. This election was held at Sher-e-Bangla Stadium, where 73 out of 75 votes were cast in favor of Tamim Iqbal. At the age of only 37, Iqbal has taken over as the President of BCB. Tamim Iqbal will remain as Tal President for 4 years.
Let us remind you that after allegations of corruption, the Bangladesh Government had dissolved the Bangladesh Cricket Board. After that, the government had formed a committee, which till now was handling the work of the board, but now Tamim Iqbal has been elected as the full chairman.
Soon after becoming the president, Tamim Iqbal said that there are many flaws here and we all agree on constitutional reforms. This will be discussed in the next annual meeting. This is no longer a board where if one person says something, it will be set in stone. Iqbal said that now this will not happen at all. Tamim Iqbal said that whatever changes are necessary for the betterment of Bangladesh cricket will be made.
Tamim Iqbal represented Bangladesh cricket team in 391 matches in international cricket. He has 8357 runs in his name in 243 ODI matches, in this format he has also scored 14 centuries and 56 half-centuries. Tamim scored 5134 runs in 70 test matches. He has 10 centuries to his name in red ball cricket. He also played 78 T20 matches for Bangladesh in which he scored 1758 runs.
