Talking about runs, both the teams together scored 1981 runs. South Africa scored 530 runs in the first innings and 481 runs in the second innings. England’s first innings ended at 316 runs. After this he got the target of 696 runs to win. England batted brilliantly in the fourth innings and reached 654 runs for 5 wickets. Despite this, no result could be achieved in the match. At the end of the ninth day’s play the match was declared a draw.
