Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while addressing the Parliament of Seychelles, said that it is a great honor for him to speak in this National Assembly. He said that he is the first Indian Prime Minister who has got the opportunity to address the Parliament of Seychelles and this is a special moment for him. Prime Minister Modi said that he has brought with him good wishes and congratulations on behalf of the 1.4 billion people of India. He congratulated the people and leadership of Seychelles for the country’s progress and achievements. Apart from this, he said that cooperation in green hydrogen is increasing.
Recalling his old visits, PM Modi said that after becoming the Prime Minister in 2015, his first foreign visit to the Indian Ocean region was to Seychelles. He said that even at that time Seychelles was very special for him. He said that Seychelles has always had a special place in India’s vision for the Indian Ocean region. This was the reason why he gave priority to Seychelles in his initial tours.

Congratulations to Seychelles on 50 years of independence
Prime Minister Modi said that when he has come to Seychelles again after a decade, his faith has become stronger than before. He said that the relations between India and Seychelles have continuously strengthened and the trust and cooperation between the two countries has increased more than before. In his address, PM Modi also congratulated Seychelles on completion of 50 years of independence. He said that it is a matter of pleasure and pride for him to join the people of Seychelles on this historic occasion. He said that India and Seychelles are not just two friendly countries, but there is a relationship of deep trust, cooperation and partnership between the two. The Prime Minister expressed confidence that these relations will become even stronger in the coming times.
PM Modi has addressed the parliaments of many countries
Immediately after becoming Prime Minister in 2014, Narendra Modi addressed the parliaments of many countries. First of all he addressed the parliaments of Bhutan, Nepal, Australia and Fiji. After this, his journey progressed further in 2015. During this he addressed the National Assembly of Mauritius and the Parliament of Mauritius. In the year 2016, Prime Minister Modi created a big history when he addressed the United States Congress. After this, in 2023, he addressed the joint session of the US Congress for the second time. With this he became the first Indian Prime Minister to address the joint session of the US Congress twice. Among these important occasions, Prime Minister Modi also addressed the Parliament of Uganda in 2018, Maldives in 2019 and Guyana in 2024.
