One in three people in the country is a victim of liver related diseases, Nadda said – awareness is important

Union Health Minister JP Nadda, while praising the successes of the institute in the tenth convocation ceremony of ILBS, said that this institute is bringing glory to India not only in the country but also at the international level. He said that ILBS is not limited to the treatment of liver diseases only, but is also making important contribution in the field of disease prevention and public awareness. Nadda said that nowadays fatty liver is being discussed in every household and ILBS has played a big role in spreading awareness about this disease.

Union Health Minister JP Nadda called upon the students to take their education and knowledge to the society and play an active role in building a healthy India. In his address, the Health Minister also mentioned the expansion of the health infrastructure of the country and said that till the end of the 20th century, there was only one AIIMS in the country, whereas during the tenure of former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, 6 new AIIMS were established. He said that today under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the number of AIIMS has increased to 23 and after the coming of Modi government, the number of medical colleges has also increased significantly.

186000 Ayushman Arogya Mandir in the country

Union Minister Nadda also said that 1,86,000 Ayushman Arogya Mandirs are working across the country, where diseases are screened at the primary level. He said that timely testing and early detection of diseases is very important to achieve the goal of a healthy India. On this occasion, the Health Minister also presented their degrees to the medical students and wished them a bright future.

One in three people suffers from fatty liver

ILBS Vice Chancellor Dr. S.K. was present in the program. Sarin said that ILBS is the only liver university in the world and in the year 2025, 1,60,000 patients will be seen here, which is more than the number of patients seen in many European countries. Dr. Sarin said that till now 1,392 liver transplants have been successfully performed in the institute and 69 EWS category patients have also been transplanted. Dr. Sarin also said that one out of every three people in the country is suffering from fatty liver and hence, like kidney, liver transplant should also be demanded under Ayushman Bharat scheme. Emphasizing on pursuing quality medical services, research and training, he said that this tenth convocation of ILBS is a symbol of their dedication and efforts.
