The banned Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) has taken responsibility for the suicide attack on the Pakistan Coast Guards camp in Gwadar, Balochistan. The organization claims that more than 30 paramilitary soldiers were killed and many others were injured in this attack.
BLA issued a statement saying that a vehicle laden with explosives targeted the Panwan Coast Guard Base in Jiwani. The organization described the attack as a ‘suicidal vehicle-borne improvised explosive device’ (SVBIED) attack carried out as part of a planned operation.
According to the report of ‘The Balochistan Post’, BLA spokesperson Ziand Baloch said in an official statement, “Due to this massive explosion, the strong camp of the Coast Guard was completely reduced to a pile of debris.” The statement further said, “Immediately after the attack, our organization’s Fateh Squad moved swiftly and attacked the camp from all sides.”
30 Pakistani soldiers killed
Claiming responsibility for the attack, the group claimed that the blast had completely destroyed the camp and caused huge damage to the security personnel. The BLA further claimed that more than 30 members of Pakistani paramilitary forces were killed, while dozens of others were seriously injured.
What did the BLA spokesperson tell?
A BLA spokesperson said, “Given the serious condition of the injured and the number of people buried under the debris, there is every possibility that enemy casualties will increase further.” BLA’s media wing Hakkal also released a 43-second video of the suicide attack. In this video, a truck full of explosives is reportedly seen entering the camp a few moments before the blast and after that a huge ball of fire is seen rising.
No statement came from Pakistan
On the other hand, Pakistani authorities did not immediately confirm BLA’s claims of casualties nor issued any official statement on the incident. Let us tell you that BLA is a banned separatist group, which has claimed responsibility for several attacks targeting Pakistani security forces and infrastructure in Balochistan.
