NDTV Profit has quoted sources as saying that regarding the shortage of cash in ATMs, RBI has asked all the banks for complete details of cash available in Tier-2 and smaller cities. With this, it will be found out as to why cash is not available in ATMs at various places. Apart from this, RBI is also trying to find out whether some banks have deposited too little cash in towns and small cities or whether the cash in ATMs has not been reloaded on time, due to which this problem is occurring. RBI has made it clear that if anything like this is found then action will be taken.
