Truecaller Report 2026: Nowadays, when most people see a call coming from an unknown number on their phone, they ignore it or think twice before picking it up. This is the reason why people are now hesitant in answering business calls. Recently, Truecaller has revealed many shocking figures related to this in the report ‘The State of Business Calling 2026’.
What does the report say?
Truecaller in collaboration with Tata Tele Business Services (TTBS) and research agency Kantar has released the report ‘The State of Business Calling 2026’. According to this new report, about 79% people in India avoid answering business calls coming from unknown numbers. It was told in the report that the biggest reason for this is spam and fake calls, due to which people’s trust is decreasing to a great extent. Despite this, 76% people still prefer voice calls over email, SMS and chat.

A survey conducted on more than 500 B2B companies and 1,000 consumers in 17 cities of the country revealed that people give more importance to those calls in which necessary information and identity of the caller are present. At the same time, people shy away from receiving calls after seeing unknown numbers.
Why don’t people answer business calls?
The increasing number of spam and fake calls is not only affecting consumers but also legitimate companies. Many times people do not even pick up important business calls because they do not recognize the caller. However, according to the survey, about 49% of consumers have said that if they get the option of timely call back and the identity of the caller is clear, then they will definitely be ready to receive business calls.
