Film actor Rajpal Yadav has received a big blow from the Delhi High Court in seven check bounce cases. The High Court upheld his conviction and sentenced him to simple imprisonment of three months each in all seven cases. However, all the sentences will run concurrently, so he will have to serve only 3 months in jail, not a total of 21 months.
Fine of Rs 1.05 crore in each case
The court has also imposed a fine of Rs 1.05 crore on Rajpal Yadav separately in all seven cases. Out of this amount, Rs 1 crore 4 lakh 75 thousand will be given to the complainant, while Rs 25 thousand will be deposited in the government’s account.
Jail will increase if fine is not paid
The High Court has made it clear that if Rajpal Yadav does not deposit the fine amount within the stipulated time, then he will have to spend an additional six months in jail in each case. This means that in case of non-payment of fine, their problems may increase further.
Wife Radha Yadav also fined
Rajpal Yadav’s wife Radha Yadav also did not get relief in this case. The court has ordered her to pay Rs 5 lakh 51 thousand 380 to the complainant in all the seven cases. If she does not pay the fine, she will have to face simple imprisonment for three months.
