West Indies achieved the target of 269 runs given by New Zealand in 47.3 overs by losing 8 wickets. From the Caribbean team, Sherfane Rutherford and Shimron Hetmyer appeared in excellent form and both played half-centuries. Facing 58 balls, Rutherford scored 61 runs with the help of 2 fours and 5 sixes. At the same time, Hetmyer remained unbeaten after scoring 69 runs in 64 balls and he returned after leading the team to victory. Hetmyer hit 2 fours and 4 sixes in his innings while playing at a strike rate of 107.
Earlier, New Zealand scored 268 runs after losing 9 wickets in the stipulated 50 overs. On behalf of the team, Nick Kelly batted brilliantly and played an important inning of 64 runs, while Tom Latham scored 69 runs in 71 balls with the help of 6 fours and one six. Will Young also scored a half-century and contributed 56 runs in 63 balls.
